For the last decade Welcome to Yorkshire has hosted its much-loved Y conference every year. The UK’s largest onstage tourism show is an annual prestigious and celebratory event, showcasing the great things that Yorkshire has to offer.

Unfortunately due to the current Coronavirus (Covid-19) crisis, this year’s Y20, due to take place today (Wednesday 25th March) had to be postponed.

Welcome to Yorkshire would like to take this opportunity to still celebrate our fantastic Yorkshire businesses and attractions online … if not in person at Y20.

A big thank you to the event’s stunning planned location, St George’s Hall in Bradford, to Welcome to Yorkshire’s key Y20 event partners Grand Central by Arriva, Yorkshire Payments and Biffa, to everyone who had tickets for Y20, Welcome to Yorkshire member exhibitors and the businesses who donated fantastic prizes and items for the coveted goody bags.

Y20 was to showcase key players from across Yorkshire to reveal their exclusive plans to make the county a must-see destination for tourists. With an  audience of more than a thousand to hear all the very latest Yorkshire tourism news and announcements from the worlds of food and drink, heritage, attractions, accommodation, the arts, culture, with celebrity guests and in front of high profile business, media and tourism representatives.

Welcome to Yorkshire are passionate about promoting our great county and encouraging visitors. However, at this time, we must all adhere to government rules during this Coronavirus pandemic and stay at home, to save lives and to let the wonderful NHS function under very serious and trying circumstances.

It won’t be long before we’re enjoying Yorkshire again, its stunning countryside, vibrant cities, spectacular coastline, and theatres and arts venues will reopen, alongside the county’s wonderful visitor attractions, brilliant businesses, restaurants and bars.

We will continue to support Welcome to Yorkshire members and to carry on showcasing the county and time will be dedicated to promoting online and through other media outlets.

We’d love to say Welcome to Yorkshire right now, but EVERYONE has to keep safe and stay at home. Beautiful Yorkshire will still be here to enjoy, if we listen to government advice.

Take this time to be prepared for when it’s business as usual again.

We’re all in this together … #YorkshireTogether
