Welcome to Yorkshire is recruiting for a Marketing Executive to join its award-winning Marketing Team. We are looking for a creative individual to help continue promoting Yorkshire as a world class destination.

This is the perfect role for someone who excels in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be able to manage multiple simultaneous projects and be able to work effectively under pressure.

Every day is different, from working on marketing campaigns, to writing copy for one of the many high quality pieces of print Welcome to Yorkshire produce and working as part of the wider team at a variety of different events across the year.

Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the Marketing Executive role offers a lot of creative scope while working as part of a strong, supportive team.

  • Job Title: Marketing Executive
  • Overall purpose of Job: To contribute to the successful delivery of the Marketing Plan by implementing effective marketing campaigns targeting the leisure, business and travel trade markets, both domestic and overseas.
  • Responsible to: Marketing Manager
  • Salary: £20K – £22k dependent on experience
  • Hours: 37, full time
  • Location: Welcome to Yorkshire, Leeds  

Marketing Executive main tasks:              

  1. Contribute to the development and implementation of the Marketing Strategy, Business Plan and campaigns to maximise Welcome to Yorkshire’s contribution to tourism earnings for the region.
  2. Implement integrated marketing plans, project manage campaigns and budgets as required to achieve the specific objectives of each project. This will include actively generating advertising revenue for each campaign.
  3. Copywriting compelling articles for brochures and campaigns.
  4. Liaise efficiently with and manage relationships with suppliers and members.
  5. Ensure that external services and supplies are procured economically, seeking the best prices available.
  6. Liaise with the Marketing Manager to develop income generation opportunities.
  7. Provide marketing advice to the industry and to sub regional partnerships to raise the quality of marketing performance through attendance at partnership meetings, and the delivery of workshops and seminars.
  8. Represent the Marketing Department at various groupings/meetings to ensure that the views of Welcome to Yorkshire are taken into consideration for the greater promotion of the region and to ensure that a professional image and consistent corporate message is maintained and delivered.
  9. Effectively measure and evaluate all campaign activity to demonstrate ROI.
  10. Maintain effective communications and working relationships between staff and other colleagues within the organisation.
  11. Attend trade shows, events and festivals on behalf of Welcome to Yorkshire (this will involve working outside of office hours and some weekends).
  12. Provide marketing support to the branding and events team on Welcome to Yorkshire led events including but not limited to Y Conference, Great Yorkshire Show and White Rose Awards.
  13. Monitor latest marketing developments and technologies which could present opportunities to gain competitive advantage for Welcome to Yorkshire’s marketing activity.
  14. Share good practice, case studies and ideas with the team to help foster a dynamic, innovative and collaborative team effort.
  15. Performs such other duties as reasonably correspond to the general character of the post and are commensurate with its level of responsibility.
