Home TOG24 Team Up On Walkshire Campaign

Welcome to Yorkshire has partnered with the outdoor retailer TOG24 on its 2021 #Walkshire campaign.

A Yorkshire family-run business with headquarters in Heckmondwike for over 60 years, TOG24 knows better than most about how to dress properly for a walk in Yorkshire, come rain or shine.

As part of the sponsorship deal, TOG24 will be the exclusive partner of Walkshire’s Urban Walking Week, starting on June 7th. The week will encourage people to explore by foot the region’s towns and cities, not just the countryside.

Danny Heaton, TOG24 Marketing Director, said: “We’re proud to be a Yorkshire brand, even our logo is based on the white rose of Yorkshire, so we were delighted at the chance to get involved in Walkshire. We want everyone to enjoy the outdoors. We’re not about planting flags on mountains, but we are for those strolls with friends to the pub or a dog walk on a beach. We’re looking forward to working with the Walkshire team to encourage more people to come and enjoy the county’s wonderful urban and rural walks.

Welcome to Yorkshire Chief Executive James Mason said: “With May’s Tour de Walkshire event about to start, and as our year-long Walkshire campaign continues to successfully surge forward, we welcome outdoor wear business TOG24 as an official Welcome to Yorkshire partner and look forward to working … and walking … with them. The last year has been a turbulent time for tourism, but one thing has been a constant positive and that’s people embracing the great Yorkshire outdoors and experiencing the wonders of walking. Of course, stepping out benefits health and well-being, and can be enjoyed in all weathers, whatever the season … especially in the right gear.

Yorkshire has much to offer with breathtaking countryside, vibrant cities, a stunning coastline, award-winning heritage, amazing arts, plus fabulous food and drink venues in abundance, as well as world-class hotels, B&Bs, glamping and campsites to suit everyone, and pounding its pathways is certainly the perfect way to enjoy the county and all it has to offer.

Pre-pandemic tourism in Yorkshire was worth a staggering £9bn to the county’s economy and employed almost 225,000 people. Working together with influential and inspirational businesses across the region, including TOG24, will help strengthen the important impact of the resurgence of the sector, as we move forward and the roadmap out of lockdown opens up many more opportunities. Welcome to Yorkshire will continue with its strategy to promote the county as the perfect place to Visit, Live, Work and Study.”

As the newest official partner of Walkshire, Welcome to Yorkshire will be running bi-weekly giveaways with a monthly grand prize all announced through the Welcome to Yorkshire facebook page
