Statement: Yorkshire County Cricket Club

Welcome to Yorkshire has no current sponsorship arrangements in place with Yorkshire County Cricket Club but has followed the recent disturbing events with grave concern. Any images including Welcome to Yorkshire relate to historic sponsorship which ended in 2018. Racism and discrimination have no place in any part of society and must be condemned by all in the strongest possible terms.

Yorkshire remains the unofficial home of world cricket, a status that has delivered major benefits to the local economy and tourism sector. The county has produced some of the greatest players in the history of the game and Headingley has been the venue for some of its most memorable matches.

We commend the firm commitment given by the new Chair of Yorkshire County Cricket Club to right the wrongs of the past and make the Club an inclusive home for aspiring players of the future.

Welcome to Yorkshire wants these efforts to succeed and stands ready to work with Yorkshire County Cricket Club in the future, but only when we can be certain that the Club is on a new path, appropriate remedial actions have been taken and clear lessons have been learnt.
