Create an Accessibility Guide
Create a free online Accessibility Guide for your business
Accessibility Guides were introduced by Visit England and VisitScotland in 2017.
Accessibility Guides, which replace Access Statements, provide information on the accessibility of a venue for visitors with additional access requirements.
With 94% of disabled people searching for accessibility information about a venue before they visit, and over half choosing to avoid visiting a place if they can’t find the information they need, making sure that you describe your accessibility in a clear and accurate way is key.
The Accessibility Guides website will help you create an online Accessibility Guide for your business and is free to use. Once created, your Guide will have a unique URL which you can add to your business website, giving disabled visitors instant access to the information they need.

There are four simple steps to creating your Accessibility Guide:
1. Register to create an account on the Accessibility Guides website.
2. Prepare to produce your Guide by taking a look at the Frequently Asked Questions, Help Guides and Top Tips for creating a great Guide.
3. Produce your Guide by logging into your account and completing the step by step questionnaire about your business. Don’t worry, you don’t have to complete everything in one go: you can answer some of the questions, save what you have completed, and come back to it as many times as you want, which means that producing your Guide can be fitted around the needs of your business. There are handy ‘help’ buttons throughout the questionnaire to help you as you go along.
4. Promote your Guide by sharing the unique URL for your Guide on your website, in your digital marketing materials and on social media.
